What Are You Desperate For?

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” (Matthew 6:33 CSB)

Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33 call us to examine our priorities: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” We all seek something—security, approval, success—but when these become first, they take God’s rightful place.

Seeking God’s kingdom means surrendering to His rule in our daily lives and trusting Him with our needs. It’s not about striving harder, but depending more fully on Him. Through Christ, we receive His righteousness, and by His Spirit, our lives are transformed to reflect Him.

When God becomes our first pursuit, everything else finds its proper place. Anxiety fades, desires shift, and we experience the peace of His provision. Ask yourself today: What am I truly desperate for? Then turn your heart to the One who alone satisfies.
