“That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”(Ephesians 5:27 KJV)
Every beautiful thing has a story behind its radiance. A restored painting, once dull and cracked, shines again only after the careful hands of a master restorer have worked on it. A wedding gown, once stained, becomes spotless after patient washing and pressing. Gold is heated repeatedly until all impurities are removed. Each refining makes it shine brighter. This is the story of Christ and His church. He loves us too deeply to leave us as we are.
Through His Word, He washes, refines, and shapes us—removing every “spot and wrinkle” that hides His beauty in us. Like a lighthouse lens that must be cleaned to shine far, Christ continually purifies His people so His light can reach the world. A glorious church is not defined by beautiful architectural design, number of worshippers, activities, or outward perfection, but by ongoing transformation. Christ is preparing us—individually and collectively—to reflect His holiness, love, and character. As we yield to His refining work, we become the radiant bride He delights in.
Are you willing to cooperate with Christ and allow His word to wash, refine, and reshape you, removing every spot and wrinkle, so you can shine with the beauty of the One who gave Himself for us.
