The Presence, the Word and the Hand of the Lord

“Immediately, Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, why did you doubt?” And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.” (Matthew 14:31-32 NIV).

At the word of Jesus, Peter walked on water while he kept his eyes on Jesus, but when he focused on the storm, he began to sink. Peter then cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus immediately reached out His hand and lifted him up. Jesus, however, rebuked Peter for doubting when he saw the storm. When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the storm calmed, and the disciples worshipped Jesus, declaring, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

In the journey of life, we are sometimes faced with moments of emotional, financial, spiritual, or relational crisis which seem overwhelming, unpredictable, and even destructive. However, such a moment could serve as an opportunity for growth, faith, and resilience.

No matter how chaotic life gets, step out in faith inspired by God’s word and keep your eyes on Jesus; He is in control. What you need is God’s presence. God’s presence brings peace in difficult situations. Trust in God’s word; He is always ready to rescue you when you call on Him, for His hand is not too short to save.
