Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8 NIV)
Approximately one-third of the world’s population does not have the Bible translated into a language they understand. One in three people do not have access to the Word of God. Certainly, this information is shocking and heartbreaking. Yet, it also can cause us to give thanks for the blessing of having the Bible in a
language we can understand.
The Bible is foundational to our faith. It is the ultimate authority in the life of an Evangelical Christian. We find God’s Word to be sufficient for us in the Christian life. Truly it is a gift from the Lord for us. Are we giving it the place in our lives it deserves? Or, does the lack of attention we give to God’s Word render us like those without the Bible in their language?
