Priesthood of the Believer

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people.” (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)

Our being part of the priesthood of believers is an incredible privilege. It means that through Jesus Christ, every believer has direct access to God—no barriers, no special status required. You can pray, worship, confess sin, and seek God’s guidance with confidence, knowing you are welcomed into His presence. That alone is remarkable.

But this also gives us as Christians purpose and identity. God does not just save believers and leave them on the sidelines; He brings us into His work. As part of a royal priesthood, every believer represents God in daily life—at home, at work, and in the community. Ordinary people are entrusted with an extraordinary calling: to reflect God’s character and make His grace known.

The priesthood of the believer means faith is active, personal, and meaningful. We are not watching from a distance; we are invited in. God chooses to work through His people, and being part of that story is both humbling and amazing.
