“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” (Philippians 3:13 NIV)
After over 25 years of spiritual growth and development, and active service in God’s vineyard, in which he had planted churches, written letters, endured persecution, seen visions, and walked with Christ, yet, Paul says, “I’m not done.” “I have not yet arrived. “If Paul, with all his spiritual depth, says he is still pressing on, then none of us can afford to settle in our current state.
Beloved, every believer in Christ is on a journey to Christlikeness. Salvation is not the finish line; it is the starting point. God never calls us to stagnation. He calls us into a life of movement, growth, maturity, and transformation. He calls us to higher ground.
Spiritual growth does not happen by accident. It is not instant; it is a daily, deliberate movement toward Christ. It requires intentional pursuit.
- Set spiritual priorities: prayer, Scripture, fellowship, service.
- Remove distractions that dilute your focus.
- Take the next step God is asking of you, even if it feels small.
- Practice obedience in the areas God has already revealed.
Surround yourself with people who encourage your spiritual growth.
