Light of the World

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14 NIV).

Jesus used the metaphor of light to convey a profound message to His disciples about their identity. He tells His followers that they are the “light of the world,” meant to shine brightly and be seen by others. He compares them to a city on a hill that cannot be hidden and explains that people do not light a lamp and put it under a bowl but on a stand, so it gives light to everyone in the house. He concludes by encouraging His followers to let their light shine before others, so that people may see their good deeds and glorify God.

As a Christian, you are called to be the “light of the world.” It would be best if you make an effort to have a positive impact on those around you. This involves living out your faith in a way that reflects God’s love and goodness. Jesus wants you to be a visible and positive influence in the world. Do not be ashamed of your identity and beliefs as a Christian, and let your actions speak for your faith. Work with other Christians to bring about positive change anywhere you find yourself and make the world a better place.
