Fostering a Healthy Family Relationship

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in numbers; fill the earth and subdue it.” (Genesis 1:27-28a NIV).

The family, as the oldest institution in the world, was established by God at the time of creation, as was recorded in the Holy Book. The home, which ought to be a place of shared joyful affection, relationship and responsibility, is, however, being confronted with many challenges. However, the level and kind of challenges differ from one family to another. These include communication gaps, disagreements, unforgiveness, financial
crises, pressure from the extended family, unmet expectations, and many more.

However, no matter the challenges your family might be facing, note that with God’s help and each member of the family’s commitment, you can overcome them. Just identify what is wrong and be willing to make amends where necessary. Be intentional in building relationships on a foundation of love, faith, and respect. Commit to daily prayer for your family’s unity, protection, and growth in faith. Depend on God’s grace to address conflicts or shortcomings within the family. Then, your family can thrive even in the complexities of contemporary society.
