“and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.” (Luke 24:34-35 NIV).
It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” That was the joyful declaration of the two disciples of Jesus who encountered Him on the road to Emmaus, the evening of the Resurrection Day. These two affirmed the certainty of Christ’s resurrection and thereby confirm that Peter’s testimony
is true.
The disciples shared their joy and testimony with one another, strengthening their belief and encouraging others to embrace the truth of Christ’s resurrection. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith as it reveals Christ’s victory over death. And Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:14 says, “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”
This is another season to reflect on the sacrificial death of Christ and His resurrection, and the salvation He offers for humanity. Have you had any encounter with the Lord? What is your testimony? Do you have a story to tell of the transformation that took place in your life? Therefore, share your testimony and stories of your encounter to inspire and uplift others
