Divine Guidance

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV).

T he journey of life is not always smooth; it is, at times, rough, long, and unpredictable. And as humans, we are con- fronted daily with choices that either make or mar us. Un- doubtedly, we know that human understanding is limited; hence, this proverb calls our attention to the need to trust in the Lord and seek and follow His guidance in our daily lives.

Since the sovereign Lord is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, letting Him lead us in every step of life will be more rewarding and peaceful than using our head knowledge. Although, following God’s wisdom does not mean we should abandon our common sense, but often times, common sense alone isn’t enough to give the needed direction to a particular decision. Therefore, we need to ground our common sense with the perfect word of God.

How often or when last did you seek God’s guidance in your choices and actions? Beloved note that cultivating a habit of seeking divine guidance and letting God lead you in every step is more rewarding because God’s wisdom beats humans’ wisdom. Above all understand that God has a plan for you, and you will never be stranded when God is leading.
