Becoming a Woman of Faith

It’s another Mother’s Day, another opportunity to celebrate our mothers. Our theme for this year is “Becoming a Woman of Faith.” Becoming a woman of faith means embracing trust, strength, and resilience in your walk with God. The Bible is filled with inspiring women of faith who demonstrated courage, trust, wisdom and devotion to God. Among them are Esther, who risked her life to save her people; Ruth, who displayed unwavering loyalty and trust in God’s provision; Hannah, who prayed fervently for a child and dedicated him to God’s service; Mary (Mother of Jesus), who accepted God’s calling with humility and obedience; Deborah, who led Israel as a prophetess and judge, showing wisdom and strength; to mention a few. Each of these women faced challenges but remained steadfast in their faith.

Furthermore, throughout Church history, many women have demonstrated remarkable faith, shaping Christianity through their devotion, leadership, and service. Few among them were Priscilla, a key figure in the early Church, who worked alongside Paul; Phoebe, a deaconess mentioned in Romans 16, known for her service and leadership in the Church; and Susanna Wesley, the mother of John and Charles Wesley, whose teachings influenced the Methodist movement.

Women of faith inspire others, whether in their families, communities, or workplaces. As these women’s stories continue to inspire strength, faith, and resilience, the big question for women of this generation is What is your story, and what are you giving to the family, church and society? We wish all mothers a happy and glorious Mother’s Day celebration!!!
