Easter Reflections

Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way. Hebrews 13:18

Easter is such an exciting time of year for the church. Our time as a church to remember the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Recalling the events brings about emotions of sadness and grief, as we remember the cross, but that is followed by joy and relief as the grave is found empty and Jesus begins revealing himself to his disciples and friends.

This was wonderful news, but it created new problems for the early church. Do we stay Jewish? What does it mean that Jesus rose from the dead on his own? Where do we meet? Who are our leaders? There were far more
questions than answers.

Questions still come up daily for the church today. Please be praying for our pastor, for our deacons, our committees, and councils as we seek out answers using the Scripture as our guide. The author of Hebrews in 13:18 sums up the desire of leadership. “Pray for us”. Pray for IBC today, this week, this year, that we might be a light to the nations around us for the glory of Christ.
