“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” (Psalm 100:4 NIV)
It is Thanksgiving Sunday. It is another time to give thanks to God for all He has done for us and to praise His Holy name for who He is. Psalm 100, often called the Psalm of Thanksgiving, provides a timeless framework for worship. At its heart lies verse 4: “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. ”This verse not only instructs us on how to approach God but also reveals the essence of true worship: gratitude and adoration.
We live in a world filled with troubles, anxiety, and complaints. But in it all God remains to be God. His faithfulness endures forever. God is Worthy of Our Praise. On this special day, Psalm 100:4 reminds us that gratitude is the doorway to intimacy with God.
A child who says “thank you” delights the parent. In the same way, thanksgiving delights the heart of God. Therefore, let thanksgiving and praise be part of our daily lifestyle. Look around you! You have many reasons to give thanks to God. Hence, count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
