Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
(2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV).
Apostle Paul, in this passage, declares a profound truth about believers in Christ: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”This speaks of radical transformation- a rebirth into a new life in
Christ. The old life, marked by sin and separation from God, is gone. A fresh start, with a new identity, purpose, and perspective, has taken place, which leads to a change in our desires, priorities,
and values. Being “in Christ” means having a personal relationship with Jesus. It’s more than mere belief; it’s a transformative union with Him.
One major problem confronting us today is that many are in the Church but not in Christ. That is why they find it difficult to understand the things of the spirit. It is not about how long one has been in the church; it is about being in Christ. Do you genuinely have a personal relationship with Jesus? Are your desires, priorities, values, and perspectives being transformed by God’s word through the Holy Spirit?
