Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. (John 4:35 NIV).
While Jesus was passing through Samaria, he and his disciples came to a town called Sychar. Wearied, hungry and thirsty, His disciples went in search of food while Jesus sat by the well. But when they returned, they found Jesus discussing with a woman, and when they gave him food, he said to them that his food was to do God’s will and complete God’s work. He then told them to open their eyes and look at the fields, for they were ripe for harvest, which means that God’s work should be given priority and requires urgency.
Procrastination is an enemy of progress, and every human has the tendency to procrastinate. As we journey on in life, opportunities to do God’s work are always there before us, so we must understand that there is no time to waste; let us use opportunities that come our way. The harvest is right here before you; open your eyes and see that the fields are ripe for harvest. Join the workforce today and stop procrastinating.
