“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part ofit … Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?” (1 Corinthians 12:27-30 NIV)
As Paul concludes his teaching on the different gi(s from the Holy Spirit, he emphasizes the uniqueness of each member regardless of their different gi(s. He mentioned the various spiritual gi(s that were prevalent in the Corinthian Church for God has graciously but randomly distributed all these gi(s to all the members. God is the giver of all gi(s for the edification of one another and the progress of God’s work.
No single individual has all that the church needs to function to the utmost, and every member has something to offer to the overall well-being of the church. Therefore, as a member of the body of Christ, note that you have a part to play in edifying other brethren and in the progress of God’s work. Identify your goals and utilize them to the best of your abilities. Above all, exercise your faith in love and faithfully serve the Lord.
